SPAG BOL stands for ‘Student Performing Arts Group - Brightening Our Learning’. SPAG BOL PRODUCTIONS rehearses and performs 2 productions each year with up to 50 students drawn from Years 4 – 6.
The group’s motto is ‘Creativity through Persistence and Resilience’ and provides students with opportunities to contribute as an important part of either the Acting Group, Stage Crew or Audio Visual Crew. It fosters teamwork, camaraderie and sense of achievement while teaching students about the various roles and responsibilities of being a part of a stage show.
Students are exposed to many elements of the performing arts, such as acting skills, singing, dance/choreography and voice coaching. For many students this provides an engaging, challenging and dynamic context for learning and a source of new found confidence and poise.
Members of the Stage Crew are responsible for ensuring the stage is organised and ready for productions, as well as providing support for school events such as MusicFest and Talent Show.
SPAG BOL performs 2 productions per year, each over 2 nights. The first is held in early June, while the second, usually a musical comedy, is performed in mid-late November.
