Enrolment process for Prep 2026

Thank you for your interest in enrolling at Ferny Grove State School for Prep 2026. Please follow the process below to determine your eligibility and ensure all required documentation is completed prior to your enrolment application submission.

In catchment

Once you have checked to see if you live in the designated catchment area you will need to complete and submit an Enrolment Application pack. This can be submitted anytime but we recommend this is done as soon as possible.

Please return your completed application via the 'submit' button at the end of the form and it will be emailed directly to our enrolments team. Alternatively, the application can be printed and returned to the school's administration office.

Each submission will require the following documents:

The following documents will need to be sighted by the school before or during enrolment interview:

  • an original birth certificate for your child (for sighting purposes only)

  • two forms of proof of residential address (e.g., electricity, phone bill, rates notices or rental agreement)

  • visa documentation and passports for parent and student (if required).

  • any relevant medical of legal documents.

To prevent any delay to the application process, please ensure all appropriate forms are completed and original copies of support document are provided.

Out of catchment

If you reside outside of Ferny Grove State School's Catchment Area, please complete our Expression of Interest form which can be emailed to enrolments@fernygrovess.eq.edu.au. This allows you to provide contact details and reasons for a request for an out-of-catchment enrolment. Once complete you will receive a 'confirmation of submission' email and your application will be considered by the Executive Leadership Team.

Our administration team will make contact with you regarding an outcome for enrolment in early Term 4.

Student Resource Scheme

A Student Resource Scheme (SRS) is a service provided by the school to assist parents with a cost effective alternative to purchasing textbooks, resources, consumables and/or materials from elsewhere, through reduced prices gained from the school’s bulk purchasing processes. The current cost of the Prep SRS is $135.

The Prep Resource Requirements List outlines resources provided by the SRS for Prep students. Students participating in the scheme will automatically receive the resources. If a student does not join the Student Resource Scheme the parent/carer will be responsible for providing all of the resources. The approximate costs for the required resources is $349.70.

These resources enhance the student’s engagement with the curriculum. A SRS provides a convenient option that offers good value to participants and ensures participating students have access to the same standard of resources. Frequently asked questions about the SRS can be found here.
