Ferny Grove State School's Tuckshop is open every day providing pre-ordered lunches and over the counter sales at second break.
Orders can now be placed through our Online Ordering facility, Flexischools.
We are focused on meeting the healthy food requirements of our children, and as such have embraced the Smart Choices Food and Drink Supply Strategy put into place by the Queensland Government. The guidelines use a traffic light system to categorise foods sold in schools into Green, Amber or Red foods according to their nutritional value. Foods and drinks categorised as Green or Amber provide valuable nutrients and are suitable for sale in school Tuckshops.
GREEN - eat plenty AMBER - choose wisely RED - not at our Tuckshop
As a result of this initiative, “Red” food items have been removed from the tuckshop menu. Homemade and fresh, healthy foods are available at reasonable prices to all our children. Here is our current menu.
If your child has any special dietary requirements (e.g. allergies, Coeliac etc.) please note these on your order as "Allergy Alert". A form from the school office must be filled out regarding allergies. This information will be included in their student profile, or you may contact the Convenor directly (details below).
The tuckshop is operated by a Managing Convenor and staff with a group of volunteers, whose help is always needed and greatly appreciated. Volunteers assist in food preparation and general kitchen duties. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up online or talk to us at school.
2022 TERM 1 Tuckshop volunteer sign up.
