Ferny Grove State School is located in Brisbane's leafy north western suburbs, close to public transport, shops and the nearby high school.

You can view a map of the Ferny Grove State School grounds (PDF, 5.9 MB) or view our location on Google maps.

Parking

Parking around the school is managed by Brisbane City Council and is not the responsibility of Ferny Grove State School to enforce. There is a traffic management plan for the streets surrounding our school.

Look Out Zone

A Look Out Zone operates at western end of Finvoy Street in the 2-minute loading zone every afternoon. This helps manage the flow of traffic in the loading zone in an orderly and safe way. Families queue and display their family name tags on the passenger sun visor (drivers do not leave their vehicle). A Look Out Zone monitor on the footpath calls for your children and the monitor in the school ground will send them out.

School crossings

School Crossing Supervisors are on duty at three points outside the school grounds from 8:00am - 9:00am and 2:45pm - 3:15pm. The school crossings are situated at:

  • Finvoy Street – small centre gate
  • Archdale Road – small gate
  • McGinn Road – two crossings

Bus and train

TRANSLink provide details of trains and local bus services as well as the School Transport Assistance Scheme. For information telephone: 131 230 or access translink.com.au

Bike racks

For students cycling to school, bike racks are provided near the cricket nets on the corner of Archdale Road and McGinn Road.
